ICT-Fachmann EFZ in training — building real-world infrastructure, servers, and solutions with a passion for how things work under the hood.
I'm an ICT apprentice based in Zürich, currently completing my ICT-Fachmann EFZ through ESPAS. My journey in IT started with a genuine curiosity about how computers, networks, and systems work — a curiosity that has grown into hands-on expertise.
I've worked across a wide range of real-world scenarios: setting up enterprise-style server infrastructure, building home lab environments, configuring virtualisation platforms, and even experimenting with local AI setups. I approach every problem analytically and methodically, and I thrive when learning something new.
Outside of IT, you'll find me reading Sci-Fi & Fantasy novels, training in boxing and fitness, or tinkering with computer hardware.
Built a complete enterprise-style lab environment with Windows and Linux servers, covering Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file sharing, print services, and domain-joined clients — simulating a real corporate network.
Configured a fully functional Debian home server with Apache web server, SSH remote access, static IP configuration, and local website hosting — managing all networking and service setup independently.
Planned and deployed multiple Debian virtual machines in Proxmox as a dedicated server testing and learning environment — great for safe experimentation without risk to production systems.
Designed and developed a responsive website concept for a private client — including full layout design, mobile optimisation, and planning for hosting and domain setup.
Conducted a structured NAS comparison using a weighted decision matrix, evaluating options across security, hardware compatibility, RAID/snapshot capabilities, available apps, and price-performance ratio.
Set up and debugged a fully local AI inference environment using Open WebUI, llama.cpp, Python virtual environments, and GGUF model formats — running large language models entirely offline on local hardware.
Built a compact Raspberry Pi-powered mini video-loop display unit, handling external screen output, audio routing, power management, and automated media playback setup.
Hands-on training in IT support and infrastructure. Responsibilities include creating websites, setting up PC workstations, installing server services and firewalls, and configuring virtual machines with Proxmox.
Operational role providing experience in a structured work environment, reinforcing reliability, responsibility, and teamwork skills.
Formal IT apprenticeship focused on application development, building a foundation in software and systems.
First hands-on exposure to professional IT environments, sparking a lasting passion for technology and infrastructure.
